Allies- U.S., England, Soviet Union

Axis- Germany, Japan, Italy

Defense Spending- Amount of $ that govt. spend on the military

Unemployment rate- % of that didnt have jobs

Fedral outlay-  Amount of $ fedral govt. to buy materials

Rattlesnakes of the atlantic- German U-boats

German U-boats- German submarines

Isolationist- Policy of stayng out of other countries affairs

Appease- to give in to demands

Lend-lease act- Law that allow potus to sell weapons to their friends

Office of price-U.s fedral agency in the WWII

Inflation- When taxes increase  and salries stay the same

Pres Franklin D. rossevelt- THe 32nd POUS

 Pres. Harry S. Truman- The 33rd POUS after FDR died

 Phillip Randolph- a civil right leader which started first predominantly Black labor union.

 A genreal of the united states wh lead the third army into europe
 Gen. MacArthur- Was cheif of staff during the WWII

  Gen. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of U.S. Forces-  Was a genral who became the 34th president


 Adolph Hitler- THe dictator of germany and leader of the Nazi's

 Benito Mussolini- Was the political leader of italy

 Joseph Stalin- THe dictator of the soviet union

  Winston Churchill- A politcal leader in The united kingdom

  Battle of the Bulge- The last stand for germany in the WWII

  Auschwitz- A  consentration camp in poland

  Atomic bomb- A nuclear bomb that was only used in japan in WWII

   Interment- A camp for japanese americans during WWII due to assumptions

  Income tax- Tax levied directly on personal income.

  wage & price controls- When the government limits increases on wages and prices

   War bonds-War bonds are debt securities issued by a government for the purpose of financing military

    WAACs- THe corps of the womans army

   WWII Battles of the Pacific-

   GI Bill of Rights- Provived the rights to the vetrans of WWII

   Zoot-Suit Riots- a series of riots in los angles
